MODERN CRAFT

Vica | furniture by Selldorf ArchitectsI posted some of the work of Selldorf Architects yesterday, but did you get a chance to admire their product line, Vica? The grain of walnut bed is so lovely... the organic curves juxtaposed to the clean lines of the bed frame... love it.

Oh, don't forget that the succulent note card giveaway ends Thursday!

LIGHT, BRIGHT & AIRY

Selldorf Architects New York 1I thought I'd sneak in one more post today. This sampling of Selldorf Architects' portfolio just couldn't wait. These rooms brightened my day and I hope they do yours... SCRIBBLE

Jocelyn Warner wallpaper 1Jocelyn Warner's wallpapers are brilliant. There are great color and pattern combinations to choose from. Right now, as you can see from the title of the post, I am really into Scribble, but then again, I love the large-scale pattern of Oval, as well. So many good ones to choose from!Jocelyn Warner wallpaper 2Jocelyn Warner wallpaper 3

BE MY GUEST

Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors Designer's Guest HouseSomeday I hope I to have one of these little guys so you can be my guest. Heck, its so beautiful, I'd make it the main house. Betty Wasserman Art & Interiors has done an amazing job with this space. I love the shake siding, deep ebony floors mixed with all the wood tones, the art selections, ooo and my favorite cherner side chair. Betty also represents some amazing artists. MICHAELS MICHAELS

It is so easy for me to get absorbed in the work of Jayne and Joan Michaels of 2Michaels. Their Palm Springs and mid-century Italian influences are evident in each space, but are well mixed next to flea market finds. Their Martha's Vineyard beachfront cottage really caught my eye; all the white cottage wood work opposed to the chartreuse mod lighting... so ideal. If I could have a beach cottage, this would be the one.
The neutral walls of the Upper West Side Apartment in their residential portfolio, make me appreciate every detail from the art collection to the exquisite furniture. (Interested in finding some of those striking pieces, check out their art and antiques at 4PM.)

LA08

dwell on design | los angeles 2008I'm excited to be pacing the exhibitor aisles at Dwell on Design | Los Angeles this weekend. I unfortunately was unable to attend the conference; I would love to hear any details if you did...

Have a restful weekend.

PANTS ON FIRE

It appears I am a liar, liar, pants on fire. My previous post on rock, paper, scissors' office was actually their old location. (Thanks, Bruce! My apologies.) This is their new office space in Santa Monica. Are you checking out the rad exterior graffiti!?!

View their new office on feed or on Bruce Bonlander's site.

Ya, so, I'm gonna need one of those orange powder-coated tables with Eames chairs, too.

SPACIOUS

Carr Design Interiors Residential 6I must have something for the Aussies right now. I keep finding so many inspiring companies down under, but you know I have a special place in my heart for floor-to-ceiling bookcases. This built-in with a ladder, and the art collection that surrounds it, was too beautiful not to post. Carr Design stole my heart with their Melbourne residential project, Harold and Weekly Times Loft. Also, you really should check out their corporate project section. If you like high-gloss and bright colors, you are going to freak when you see images from BOSS Space Awards...Carr Design Interiors Corporate 1Carr Design Interiors Corporate 2Carr Design Interiors Corporate 3

POOLSIDE

For those of you busy bees that couldn't link to architect Bruce Bolander's work, I thought I'd post one of his many admirable residential projects I mentioned earlier: Carter poolhouse and the Carter home. Oh, and I forgot to mention his fantastic furniture designs, too!

ROCHAMBEAU

Rock Paper Scissors edittingBruce Bolander Architect, Los Angeles 1The über talented editors at rock, paper, scissors (did I just write, über?) teamed up with architect Bruce Bolander to create their office space. (note: this is actually their old office space... their new office space is posted above. Shoot, I wish I could snatch up this one!) Great colors, mixed materials and textures, exposed ducting and structural beams have to spark the creativity of the team at rock, paper, scissors. I know it would be for me. Well, really all of the work by Bruce Bolander would, especially the Carter home and poolhouse. Darryl Carter Lighting CollectionI wanted to share Darryl Carter's lighting collection, too. You may find it at the Urban Electric Company if you search by designer. Darryl Carter Lighting Collection 2Darryl Carter Lighting Collection 3Darryl Carter Lighting Collection 4

INTEGRATION

Darryl Carter 1Darryl Carter 2Darryl Carter 3I have been so inspired by Darryl Carter's portfolio lately. Each item seems to be an integral piece to the room's composition; color, texture, mixing new items with antiques. Darryl has been featured in Metropolitan Home, House Beautiful, Elle Decor, to name a few. I'll post a few of his lighting products in a little bit.Darryl Carter 4Darryl Carter 5Darryl Carter 6Darryl Carter 7

UNOBSTRUCTED

Alison Spear Interiors 1Alison Spear Interiors 2I love to see how different designers utilize lucite (or glass) furniture in their spaces. Award-winning designer Alison Spear's own dining room is a great example (above). The images of her space just feel good, don't they? Open... fresh. She also uses these lucite chairs in her commercial project for Genki Sushi (below).Alison Spear Interiors 3Alison Spear Interiors 4
And finally, look at this lucite table on craigslist!?! You can pick up the Angela Adams rug, too!Lucite Coffee Table
…hope everyone had a nice weekend. The long Memorial Day weekend was definitely well received in the StetsonThompson household, so relaxing.

TIGHT

M. Design Interiors on MStetsonThis little kitchen reminded me of mine... I tried red before the chalkboard paint and my oven is only 20". (Cute, maybe, but when trying to do a thanksgiving dinner... not so much.)

I really enjoy browsing M. Design Interors' portfolio, both residential and commercial. It seems every time I take a look, I am admiring a new combination or detail by Molly Luetkemeyer. Do you see that greek key lucite table above!?!

4 THE KIDS

I love this children's playroom in Trump Place by Nitzan Design. Such a nice bright, playful space while being modern and inviting. The stripe column is so great, wrapping up and over to the adjacent wall. Below, Nitzan Design created an inspiring display of children's art intermixed with bold letterforms... great idea and, obviously, well executed. Hope you all have a great weekend... I'm on the hunt for some Craigslist finds!

DIVIDED

I'm digging 3-form's room dividers, Parametre. I just came across them on 2Modern and had to share. Some of you that were lucky enough to attend the New York Gift Show or last years ICFF may have already seen them. They are made from a non-woven polyester that has the appearance of paper, but is more durable and has been UV coated. Apartment Therapy has a great photo of the color options. I could imagine using these a few places.

Can't wait to see what they release at this year's ICFF. (Not that I get to go… did that sound a little bitter? Geez.)

SHOWCASE

Another reason why I would love to live in San Francisco... Gioi Tran from Applegate Tran (see yesterday's post on their San Francisco Loft) emailed me these beautiful photos from this year's San Francisco Decorator Showcase. For the last 30 years, San Francisco mansions have been transformed by world-renowned designers to benefit San Francisco University High School's financial aid program. The showcase house is open until May 26th. Inspiring or what?

LOFTY COMBINATIONS

Happy Monday, everybody! M & I will be on press checks the rest of the week... fingers crossed our project prints perfectly. Anyway, I am really loving this San Francisco Loft by Applegate Tran: steel and glass sliding doors juxt the fabric sliding curtain across the room, high gloss next to flat matte… Those windows allow for so much gorgeous natural light and frame the skyline beautifully.

Also, make sure to take a look at their furniture line... so many pretties.

COCOON

This 5th Avenue residence by Thad Hayes, Inc. is beyond lovely. The bedroom attracted me with its deep navy walls and beautiful woodwork. (M is thinking of going with navy walls in her bedroom. I'll definitely be showing her this image to seal the deal.) Obviously, the living room is perfection as well...with a very nice art collection, I might add. photography ©Scott Frances

Love that floor lamp? Me, too and you can find the Wainwright Floor Lamp here with its counterpart, the Wainwright Table Lamp.
